Princess Andre wishes she had fewer "things on (her) plate" when she was a child.

Katie Price and Peter Andre's daughter has opened up in a new docu-series about her life.

In the reality TV show The Princess Diaries, Princess, 18, admitted she wished much about her upbringing could have been different.

"I do wish, like, I could have had a happier childhood," Princess shared.

"In the sense of like, I had so many things on my plate at a young age."

She explained that watching her parents' turbulent marriage end in a messy, high-profile divorce had left her struggling with the idea that "my mum and dad don't like each other".

Additionally, Princess said, she didn't feel Katie, 47, had managed her emotions well in the wake of the 2009 split.

"My mum, obviously being heartbroken, didn't deal with that in the best way," Princess recalled. "She went through a very, very dark time, which is understandable."

This led to Princess encountering situations she and her siblings were ill-equipped to deal with, she said.

"Which is hard for me because I was around adulty things that kids should never see," Princess explained. "And I think as well, when we needed our mum there, she wasn't emotionally able to be there because she had so much of her own problems going on."

Katie and Peter were married between 2005 and 2009, and they share two children: Princess and Junior, 20.
