Those of you struggling with the heat at the moment might be in for a bit of a shock - this ain't a heatwave.

There is, however, one on its way. Next week will see the mercury rise to the high 20s and early 30s, according to a new Met Office forecast .

From Monday, temperatures will be above 28C for three or more days, officially meeting London's criteria for a heatwave. The standards are different across the country for the obvious reason that a certain temperature means a lot more in the Scottish Highlands than it does in England's South East.

So it follows that temperatures could be below 28C in different parts of the country and it could still be considered a heatwave there as well.
