A Roll of the Dice, a Reach for Hope: Game Night grows into local support network

On the second Tuesday of every month, the Wilmington Board Game Social teams up with Wilmington Brew Works to host a $5 game night open to the community.

Founders Kristy and Rob Nichols, along with Pernell Vaughn, say the group has connected them with dozens of new friends since launching.

What started as a game night for adults in search of fun and friends turned into so much more, founders Rob and Kristy Nichols say.

"We wanted to put together something in our neighborhood that would be inviting to everyone," says Rob Nichols.

The couple began visiting Wilmington Brew Works for date nights and outings with their child — and quickly fell in love with the space.

“We noticed people playing games there and saw a real need for a more organized board game group,” says Rob.
