Motorists are facing delays on the M6 this morning following both a breakdown and a collision. And the incidents between Junctions 18 and 16 - on the southbound carriageway - has brought traffic to a halt on the A500 near Audley.

Traffic monitoring system Inrix issued the first alert at 9.40am to confirm there was a broken down vehicle between Junction 17 and 16. Another alert was then put out just after 9.55am to confirm the southbound stretch from Junction 19 to 18 was 'partially blocked' following a collision.

A live map from National Highways shows southbound traffic at a halt from 19 to 18. It's busy northbound from 16 to 17. Meanwhile the A500 on the approach to Junction 16 is at a stop.
