Philadelphia artist Rebecca Schultz spent two weeks in October 2024 exploring the landscapes of the Sawtooth National Recreation Area as part of an artist residency program co-sponsored by the Sun Valley Museum of Art and the U.S. Forest Service.

The work created during and after her time in Idaho is now on display in an exhibition titled “Mapping Materiality in the Sawtooths” at the SNRA Visitor Center, where it will remain through Aug. 27.

Schultz’s artistic practice often incorporates natural materials gathered from the landscapes she studies.
