Iam off on my eighth UK tour called “Please #@!$ Off To Mars” this Autumn, and with over one hundred dates scheduled, I shall be once again frequenting numerous motorway service stations and hoping that when I do visit none of their toilets are currently “closed for cleaning”.

After 20 years of touring, I have developed some firm service station favourites including, top of the list, Tebay Services. Located on the M6 in between the Lake District and the North Pennines, it has absolutely stunning scenery. It is essentially a giant farmshop with a view that happens to also sell petrol.
