AUSTIN, Texas — Slaughter Lane reopened Friday morning after a fatal crash prompted a temporary closure.

According to the Austin Police Department (APD), the wreck happened sometime around 5:30 a.m. on the 100 block of East Slaughter Lane, near Interstate 35.

Both directions of Slaughter Lane were shut down for several hours, APD said Friday.

It's unclear how many vehicles were involved in the crash. The number of fatalities is also unknown at this time.
