BENTONVILLE, Ark. — A group of Arkansas teens spent Thursday learning hands-on construction skills at a summer camp at Northwest Arkansas Community College in Bentonville.
The camp was hosted by the Associated Builders and Contractors of Arkansas , also known as ABC, to introduce students ages 12 to 17 to career paths in the construction industry.
“In all our youth camps, it always comes back to what our contractors need right now. And it's more people,” said Megan Williams, ABC's Vice President of Chapter Development. “We need more people learning how to be contractors and niche trades.”
Students participated in activities like carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work, while also learning how the trades can lead to stable, well-paying careers.
