We may be staring down the barrel of the final season of Outlander , but I have some very good news to share: the story is far from over. We’re going to get to dive even deeper into the backgrounds of Jamie and Claire with the brand-new prequel Outlander: Blood of My Blood . Yay!

The new show, premiering August 8 , explores the passionate love stories of Jamie’s parents, Ellen MacKenzie and Brian Fraser, and Claire’s parents, Julia Moriston and Henry Beauchamp. And yes, that means we’re going to get to travel back in time once again to historic Scotland, where the gorgeous highland landscapes are dotted with hot men wearing kilts.

Before the show’s premiere, let’s familiarize ourselves with the cast and characters we can expect to see in Outlander: Blood of My Blood .
