Last year, nearly 1,000 people attended Fort Bend County's first Pride festival.

The event celebrating the LGBTQ+ community and its allies returns to the county fairgrounds this Sunday.

LaToya "Hunny" Phillips, the founder of Fort Bend County Pride , said this year's theme is "Superheroes of Pride."

"We want everybody to come dressed up as their favorite superhero or LGBT icon," she said.

The event will include local vendors, games, bounce houses, a reptile petting zoo and representatives from the Texas Renaissance Festival.

"We just wanted to be diverse and inclusive to all," Phillips said.

Organizers said they wanted to create an opportunity for LGBTQ residents to celebrate locally, without having to drive into Houston.
