FRANKFORT, Ky. (FOX 56) — One neat part of Frankfort's history is the city's rich bourbon history.
Buffalo Trace Distillery was founded in 1787 and is the oldest continuously operating distillery in Kentucky. But bourbon isn't the only thing made on the property.
When you come to Buffalo Trace, most people come in search of bourbon for their collection.
If you look hard enough on the grounds, you'll find a small building where amazing creations are carved out of an important ingredient of the bourbon-making process.
"It's all arts and crafts and rock and roll in here," explained Jon Hartman.
Whiskey Woodcraft was started at Buffalo Trace in 2022. It was meant to be a way to give bourbon barrels that didn't survive the aging process new life.
