SIOUX CITY -- Authorities are searching for a 47-year-old New Jersey man whose rental car was recovered from the Missouri River Wednesday evening.
Sioux City Community Policing Sgt. Tom Gill said a blue 2024 Nissan Sentra was pulled from the water near the public boat ramp in Chris Larsen Park at approximately 9:30 p.m. He said one of the vehicle's windows was either down or partially down when it was recovered and the man was not inside. Authorities have not released the man's name.
"The time he would probably have left his hotel, it was downpouring rain, which makes me think he just drove straight down Hamilton (Boulevard) and went right in the river, but I don't know that for sure," Gill said.
