SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- This Saturday, the Kansas City Chiefs will take the field for the first time this preseason against the Arizona Cardinals.
After coming up just short of a third straight Super Bowl victory, the Chiefs will once again begin their quest to bring home a Lombardi trophy. That starts with this weekend's preseason opener against the Cardinals.
Head Coach Andy Reid told reporters this week at training camp in St. Joseph, Missouri, that the starters would see some action in the first quarter, including Quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
“I don’t necessarily look forward to getting hit,” Mahomes told reporters on Thursday.
The hope is he'll have plenty of protection by his newest offensive line additions, including rookie left tackle Josh Simmons, who has been a training camp sens
