Firefighters are currently tackling an ongoing blaze in the city - with smoke seen from across the Potteries. Fire crews and police are currently at the incident off Shelton New Road in Cliffe Vale.

And families from across the city have been able to see thick smoke bellowing from the scene. One resident in Bentilee , who took a photograph from the estate, said: "There's a massive fire - can be seen from Bentilee. It did start from a small plume and then it just developed."

Meanwhile motorists driving through Etruria have also been able to see it.

Our photographer has confirmed at least two fire engines are at the scene of the blaze in Cliffe Vale with police also in attendance.
