Flats flooded after major water leak at Lower Precinct in Coventry

Flats have been flooded after a major water leak in Coventry . Shops at Lower Precinct have also been affected.

Crews from Foleshill , Binley , and Solihull were reportedly called to Mercia House at around 10.50am. Water was found to have leaked into properties and shops at Lower Precinct Shopping Centre .

Firefighters are working to isolate the water supply this afternoon (August 8). Officials from Citizen Housing have also attended and are believed to be supporting those affected.

A spokesman for West Midlands Fire Service said: “We responded to Lower Precinct in Coventry at around 10.50am. Two fire engines and two 4x4 Brigade Response Vehicles from Foleshill , Binley , and Solihull attended, the first arriving within five minutes of being mobilised.
