WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Crystina Schroer is due back in court Friday in Butler County for a preliminary hearing in connection with the death of her adopted daughter, 6-year-old Kennedy Schroer.
Crystina Schroer is charged with first-degree murder, child abuse, and several other related crimes following the discovery of Kennedy’s body in the backyard of the family’s home in Rose Hill in September 2024.
Authorities say the young girl had been buried in the yard, and her death triggered an extensive investigation by law enforcement.
Kennedy’s adoptive father, Joseph Schroer, also faces criminal charges. He is charged with aggravated endangering a child. His next court appearance is currently scheduled for September.
