Liverpool 's summer transfer plan has taken somewhat of a hit, and it's not because of anything happening at Anfield . It's because Benjamin Šeško decided to join Manchester United and the ripple effect it has on their ability to sign their top target, Alexander Isak .

The Swedish striker has been at the centre of Liverpool's plans to strengthen their attack, but a key development involving Newcastle United may now block that move.

Šeško was being chased by both Manchester United and Newcastle. The Magpies saw the RB Leipzig forward as a replacement for Isak if they were to sell the Swede for a big fee.

Newcastle reportedly bid £69m for Šeško and were ready to move if they got him. That plan has now fallen apart. Šeško has chosen Manchester United and the Premier League
