Sammy "Sam" K. Brookshire, 78 of Paducah, passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at Parkview Nursing & Rehabilitation in Paducah. Sam was born on September 21, 1946, in Paducah, KY, to the late Thurman Brookshire and Ocie McGee Brookshire.

Sam spent his early life as a resident of the Hendron/Lone Oak Communities and was a proud graduate of Lone Oak High School. Following his high school graduation, Sam answered the call of duty and served his country as a radio operator in the US Army, stationed in Germany from 1967-1969. His time in the military instilled in him a sense of discipline and camaraderie that he carried throughout his life.

After an honorable discharge, Sam worked as a manager and salesman for Applied Industrial Technologies in Cincinnati and Lexington, later retiring to
