Stratford Bentley’s City FC is closing in on its goal of a Kitchener District Soccer League Premier Division title.
The first-place club entered Friday’s match with Banat riding a three-game win streak and boasting a league-best plus-13 goal differential. A victory over Banat, which is three points back of Stratford, would put City FC firmly in control with only three matches remaining.
“They’re all very aware of that,” head coach Kenny Murphy said. “They’re focused and they’re driven.”
Murphy is back on the sidelines after a season off, and the team has gone 6-1-3. There’s a balance of veteran savvy and young skill that other clubs haven’t matched.
