‘Major’ rail disruption through Cambridgeshire is expected until the evening. Trains running between Peterborough , Cambridge and London Kings Cross continue to be disrupted this afternoon (Friday, August 8).
The trains have been disrupted since 7.30am after a person was hit by a train between Hitchin and Stevenage . Although lines have reopened, disruption is now expected until at least 7pm.
On the National Rail website, it says: “The emergency services have completed their work following an earlier incident where a person was hit by a train between Hitchin and Stevenage. This has allowed all lines to reopen.
“Trains running between Peterborough/Cambridge and London are returning to normal but may be cancelled, revised or delayed by up to 60 minutes. Major disruption is expecte
