15 members of the Flint Hills Track and Field Club traveled to Houston last week to compete in the U.S. Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) Junior Olympic Games. The annual event is the largest national multi-sport event for youth in the nation.

Among the performances of the 15 were several new personal records, with two achieving All-American status after placing in the top eight of their events.

The Flint Hills Track and Field Club is relatively new, competing at the Junior Olympics event for the first time last year. Still in its infancy, the club has undergone several key changes in the last year that have contributed to their success.
