London police are looking for a man suspected of a sexually assaulting a woman near downtown.
Officers were called to the area of Bathurst and Thames streets at about 3:30 p.m. on Thursday by a woman who had been searching for personal belongings that had been stolen from her, police said Friday.
The woman was walking near King and Talbot streets searching for the stolen property shortly after 3 p.m. when a man she didn’t know approached her, police said. He asked if she was OK and the woman told him about her problem.
The man, police said, told the woman he would help looking for her belongings. They were in the Bathurst and Thames streets area when the man pushed the woman to the ground and sexually assaulted her, police said.
He ran away and the woman called 911.
