JD Vance has begun his UK holiday with a visit to the Foreign Secretary’s country retreat at Chevening in Kent.

The US vice president arrived on Friday morning with his wife and three children to meet David Lammy, who said he would be discussing the " developing situation in Gaza" and the ongoing war in Ukraine with Vance during the visit.

The two men went carp fishing in a pond near the 17th-century house, and are understood to have caught some fish.
