ELMIRA, N.Y. (WETM) – One man has been arrested in connection with an instance of shots being fired in the City of Elmira on Thursday evening.

Christopher J. Brumfield, 19, was arrested on the charge of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, a class C felony, along with multiple traffic violations, as stated in a release from the Elmira Police Department.

Police say Brumfield was charged with the crimes following an incident that occurred on Thursday, Aug. 7, around 10:42 p.m. in Elmira. At this time, police say they were called to the area of West Gray Street and Guinnip Ave. for the report of multiple gunshots and two vehicles taking off from the area.
