The Detroit Lions have already played their first preseason game, but a Week 1 preseason game awaits them.

The Lions will visit the Atlanta Falcons on Friday, Aug. 8, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta (7 p.m. ET) for a preseason matchup. It will be the Lions' second preseason game after a 34-7 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers in the Hall of Fame Game on Thursday, July 31, with the Falcons getting set to play their first preseason game.

Quarterback Hendon Hooker is set to play the first half of the game, battling for the backup role with Kyle Allen, who will play in the second half. Jared Goff is not scheduled to play in the game.

Hooker struggled Friday, going 3-of-6 for 18 yards and an interception in his first action of 2025.
