Julian Edelman went to Patriots training camp earlier this week, and he liked what he saw.

The former Patriots receiver praised the play of second-year QB Drake Maye and rookie offensive lineman Will Campbell on a recent episode of his podcast ‘Dudes On Dudes’ with Rob Gronkowski, but had especially high praise for first-year running back TreyVon Henderson.

“The Henderson kid out of the backfield looked really good,” Edelman said. “Second round pick out of Ohio State. Had a couple big plays. Looked smart. Looks hungry.”

Gronkowski asked Edelman if the young running back reminded him of former Patriots Pro Bowler James White.

Edelman couldn’t help but see the similarities.

“He’s taller, but he can do a lot of that stuff,” Edelman said. “He’s taller than (White) or a (Shane) Vereen.
