The former owner of a Jersey restaurant has pleaded guilty to four counts of fraud and forgery, totalling more than £700,000.

Gavin Roberts, 46, is currently serving a 15-year prison sentence for a series of offences, including rape .

He ran the now-defunct Shinzo restaurant in St Aubin, which closed in 2022 after building up thousands of pounds of debt.

At Jersey's Royal Court on Friday, he admitted committing fraud and forgery between 2018 and 2022.

The specialist financial crimes unit within the States of Jersey Police investigated Roberts and says the impact of his crimes has been "devastating" for the people who were targeted.
