Animal Abuse in Mayfield, NY
State Police in New York say they arrested a Capital Region woman for allegedly abusing dozens of dogs at her home, which also doubled as a not-for-profit dog rescue.
According to the State Police, Alison M. Martin, 42, of Mayfield, was arrested this week and charged with animal cruelty, which consisted of overdriving, torturing, and injuring animals, and failure to provide proper sustenance.
On Tuesday, Troopers responded to a home in Mayfield, NY, after a concerned individual reported a potentially malnourished dog at the location.
With assistance from the Mayfield Dog Control Officer, they discovered multiple dogs living in unsanitary conditions, and some, according to SP, had gone without access to clean water.
