LUCEDALE, Miss. (WHLT) - An off-duty deputy with the George County Sheriff's Office was arrested, according to authorities.

George County Sheriff Mitchell Mixon said the off-duty deputy, who was identified as Braxton Keebler, 22, was arrested by Lucedale police on August 7 on suspicion of Driving Under the Influence (DUI).

The sheriff said officers observed Keebler appeared to be under the influence. He was taken into custody without incident.

Keebler is being housed at the Greene County Sheriff's Office. Mixon said Keebler has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of both the criminal and internal investigation.
