AN NFL player arrested for the second time in a matter of months and detained by cops.

The Houston Texans star was booked into Montgomery County Jail on Thursday evening.

He will be released by court order on Friday.

Jimmie Ward, 34, was first arrested on June 12 at his home in Magnolia, Texas.

A woman claimed Ward assaulted, strangled and threatened her.

The Houston Texans safety was booked on a felony charge of assaulting a family/house member.

An emergency protective order was filed at the woman's request.

Ward posted $30k bond and was released.

His lawyer Steve Jackson said that Ward would be "vindicated" when the case went to a grand jury on August 31.

This week, Ward was arrested again.
