The Canyon Fire in Ventura and Los Angeles counties has exploded to 4,856 acres, prompting evacuation orders as officials battled the blaze in soaring temperatures on Thursday, Aug. 7. The Canyon Fire, which ignited in a canyon area southeast of Lake Piru, grew to over 4,856 acres with zero percent containment, the Los Angeles County Fire Department said on Aug. 7, their most recent update.
No residences have been damaged by the blaze, and there have not been any reported injuries, officials said.
