The undefeated and defending champion Sarnia Imperials take nothing for granted going into the Ontario Power 5 Football League championship game.

Despite beating the Burlington Longhorns twice already this season, Imperials head coach and president Andrew Barnes is cautious for their third meeting Saturday at 7 p.m. at Norm Perry Park.

“We’ve got to come out of the gate swinging and not lay off the pedal until the final whistle’s blown,” he said.

The Imperials rolled to a 6-0 record in the regular season and then beat the Tri-City Outlaws 56-7 in a semifinal two weeks ago.

They’ve won all but two games by at least 30 points, but Barnes sees no signs of arrogance.
