Federal authorities flooded the District on Friday morning.

The cavalry nobody in the region called for has arrived in DC amid President Donald Trump's ongoing calls to federalize the nation's capital.

As promised, federal law enforcement agencies arrived in DC early on Friday morning as officials work to combat a recent rash of youth crime that has drawn the president's ire.

The move comes after a 19-year-old former Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) worker was brutalized during a carjacking earlier this week.

“If DC doesn’t get its act together, and quickly, we will have no choice but to take Federal control of the City,” Trump warned this week on Truth Social, “and run this City how it should be run.”

He doubled down on the threat: “If this continues, I am going to exert my powers, and FEDERALIZE this City.”

Shortly before 2 a.m. on Friday ATF Washington shared photos of its forces mobilizing in DC with the hashtag #MakeDCSafeAgain.

Despite the display of power, not all locals were pleased about the latest development.

"Safer from what," one local resident questioned. "Only thing unsafe in these streets is bullets and police..."

Another X user had a simple response: "go home ... you're acting like the Gestapo. Crime is down in DC."

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, crime is down across the district year-to-year as of Friday, Aug. 8.

The department has reported 99 homicides (down 12 percent), 55 sex abuse cases (down 49 percent), and violent crime as a whole is down 28 percent.

"You're acting like authoritarian a-----s," another X user posted. Crime is down in DC."

"Responding to isolated events like this with federal forces is unAMERICAN and shameful. This is the USA not Belarus or Myanmar."
