HARRIS, Minn. (Northern News Now) - A Duluth man is recovering from a gunshot wound after he was shot in the leg Thursday while driving on I-35.
According to Chisago County, Minn. authorities, the 48-year-old was driving his vehicle on southbound I-35 near the Harris exit when he was struck by a bullet that came through the driver’s side door.
Deputies arriving in the vicinity reported hearing gunfire consistent with rifle target shooting.
Multiple authorities responded and began searching to pinpoint the source of the gunfire.
Three men were found to be shooting rifles on private property along I-35 at a target positioned in the direction of the interstate.
The men cooperated with law enforcement.
