On August 5, Southwest Airlines inaugurated eight domestic routes, with another following on August 10. Four of them have been served by the evolving carrier before. I'm sure they'll make the next edition of my celebratory Weekly Routes article ( click here for this week's edition ).

Five of the routes are now among Southwest's 11 shortest mainland US network: Sarasota-Orlando, Fort Myers-Orlando, West Palm Beach-Orlando, Louisville-Nashville, and Indianapolis-Chicago Midway. Others came close.
