SUPERIOR, Wisc. — The path to parenthood was filled with surprises for Gabby and Bobbijean Gidley, of Superior, Wisconsin. For the two high school softball coaches, it’s been an exercise in teamwork and flexibility.
Gabby gave birth to quadruplets Monday, July 28, at Essentia Health-St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth. A team of doctors, nurses and anesthesiologists helped deliver the three girls and one boy via C-section.
“Essentia just made it as easy a process as it possibly could be. It’s almost like they did it every day,” Gabby said.
In fact, the last time quadruplets were born at the hospital was in 1999, according to Essentia Health media relations specialist Anthony Matt.
A C-section delivery was scheduled for Aug. 19, when the Gidley quadruplets would have been 32 weeks along
