CHICAGO (WLS) -- The second bomb threat in one week was reported Friday at a west suburban hotel complex where Texas Democrats who left their home state in an effort to prevent a congressional redistricting vote had been staying.

St. Charles police said officers responded to a report of a second potential bomb threat at the Q-Center hotel and convention complex in the 1400-block of North Fifth Avenue just after 8:30 a.m.

The St. Charles Police Department, in coordination with the Kane County Sheriff's Office Bomb Squad and the Explosive Detection K-9 Unit, searched the area, and no explosive device was found, police said.

Police have deemed the area secure, and all 70 hotel guests are safe.
