STAATSBURG, N.Y. — A Poughkeepsie woman was arrested Thursday after allegedly holding a pillow against the face of a resident of the Anderson Center for Autism, according to a press release from New York state police.
The release said Deijeanae S. Edwards, 22, was arrested by state police from the Rhinebeck barracks at 4:26 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, following an incident reported Saturday, Aug. 2. Police said that Edwards is a staff member at Anderson.
The release said police responded to the Anderson Center for Autism on Aug. 2 following a report of a resident exhibiting visible bruising. An investigation alleged that Edwards “had held a pillow against a resident’s face while restraining the individual’s arm.”
