Homelessness in the Kingston region has increased significantly, according to a new report released on Thursday by United Way Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington (KFL&A).
According to the agency, a Point In Time count was conducted in a 24-hour period from Nov. 19 to 20, 2024.

The data collected is part of the Government of Canada’s Reaching Home: Canada’s Homelessness Strategy, which helps capture the number of individuals who are experiencing homelessness on a specific night.
By conducting the PiT count, communities can get a sense of what demographics are impacted, what services are needed and measure community progress in reducing homelessness.
