A man was arrested Wednesday in the Kentwood area in connection to a high-speed chase along Highway 38 where the man allegedly drove after a woman and her child, according to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Johnathan Newman, 40, of the Kentwood area was arrested following an investigation

The woman told authorities that she was driving along the highway with her child when she came across a parked vehicle across both lanes of the road, according to the sheriff's office.

When she stopped, she said a man exited the vehicle and began walking toward her. She backed out and began to drive back the way she came, and the man got back into his vehicle and began chasing her, according to the sheriff's office.
