GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is holding firm in its above-normal outlook of the Atlantic hurricane season.
NAMED STORMS SO FAR
A total of four storms have been named this year: Andrea, Barry, Chantal and Dexter. All four storms remained as tropical storms, a step down from hurricane status. Chantal was the only storm to make landfall — that was in early July.
Despite the slow start to the season, forecasters believe it will get quite active in the coming weeks and months.
