BATON ROUGE – After rumors swirled online about LSU football senior quarterback Garrett Nussmeier and the severity of a potential injury he suffered during the team's practice Wednesday morning, head coach Brian Kelly quelled any concerns of a long-term issue Friday.

Kelly informed reporters after the Tigers' practice that Nussmeier aggravated a preexisting injury in his knee and is battling tendonitis of the patella tendon.

"He does not have a torn ACL, we have not amputated his leg," Kelly initially joked. "He has a P.O.'d patella tendon. He was out there today throwing and tomorrow he'll be back out most likely in a practice situation. GARRETT NUSSMEIER INJURY UPDATE
