GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - For the next week, members of the Greater Gainesville International Center are hosting leaders from Central Asia.

Six public officials from the Republic of Tajikistan in Central Asia are visiting the city to collaborate on local governance, civic engagement, and public safety.

Until Aug. 16, delegates will meet with local, state, and federal leaders at locations around the city, as well as on trips to Orlando and Saint Augustine.

This is the 27th delegation Gainesville has hosted. All delegates are visiting the United States for the first time and will stay with local Gainesville host families throughout the exchange.
