A criminal case against a Pontiac felon accused of shooting a woman last April outside the Newman Court Apartments has advanced to Oakland County Circuit Court for possible trial.

At the conclusion of a preliminary exam Friday morning in 50th District Court, Judge Ronda Fowlkes ruled there was probable cause to bind over the case against 37-year-old Timothy Suave Williams, charged with assault with intent to murder, firearms possession by a prohibited person, and two counts of felony firearm.

The injured woman, who Williams used to date, suffered a gunshot wound to the shoulder, according to the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office. Williams turned himself in to law enforcement six days after the shooting.
