A female driver hit a tree and nearly struck a resident when she showed up on a property in Goulais River in mid-July, police say.

Homeowners reported the female who appeared at an address on Bye’s Side Road on July 18. She fled when confronted.

Isabel Dias, 59, of Sault Ste. Marie, was charged with operation while impaired, alcohol and drugs, having a blood/alcohol level of more than 80 milligrams and dangerous operation.

Her court date is Aug. 18.

The accused’s vehicle was impounded for one week and licence suspended for 90 days.
