(WJW) — Fieldsheer Apparel Technologies is recalling about 45,000 pairs of heated socks after receiving multiple reports of injuries, including burns and blisters, federal safety officials announced Thursday.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said the recall involves several models of Fieldsheer’s heated merino wool socks.
The socks can cause pain and discomfort during high-intensity activities, according to the alert. The socks may generate a combination of excessive heat, friction, moisture, and pressure, posing a risk of injury.
To date, Fieldsheer has received 11 reports of socks causing pain or discomfort. Four of those cases involved burns or blisters, the agency said.
