Microsoft has confirmed that it will be retiring the Microsoft Lens mobile app for both iOS and Android, starting next month, as reported by BleepingComputer .
The retirement process begins on September 15, 2025. At that point, users will see the retirement phase initiated. About a month later, mid‑October, Apple’s App Store and Google Play Store will disable new downloads of Microsoft Lens. By mid‑November, the app will be removed entirely from both stores.
Users will still be able to use the app for a short while. But starting December 15, 2025, creating new scans in Microsoft Lens will no longer be possible. Existing scans saved in the “MyScans” folder will remain accessible—but there will be no further updates or support for the app.
