UPDATE: Athens shooting suspect Carlos Quintana was captured at a residence in Bradley County Thursday night, McMinn County Sheriff Joe Guy says. Bradley County Sheriff Steve Lawson thanked all responding agencies for the safe apprehension:

“This arrest is the result of outstanding teamwork, dedication, and communication between multiple agencies. I want to commend every officer, deputy, and federal agent who played a role in ensuring this dangerous individual was taken into custody without harm to the public. The safety and well-being of the citizens of Bradley County remain our top priority, and we will continue to work tirelessly with our law enforcement partners to keep our communities safe.”
