SEQOUYAH COUNTY, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — A Muldrow man has been convicted of aggravated sexual abuse of a minor, according to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma.

Evidence presented by federal prosecutors revealed that in May 2024, Justin Floyd Qualls, also known as Jay Qualls, 40, knowingly engaged in a sexual act with a child under the age of 12. The crime occurred in Adair County, within the Cherokee Nation Reservation.

The investigation into Qualls was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Qualls will remain in custody of United States Marshal as he awaits sentencing for the felony offense.
