Police have seized drugs worth more than £160,000 during a series of raids targeting suspected dealers in Renfrewshire. ‌

Officers swooped on properties in Rowan Street and Strathcarron Road in Paisley, along with addresses in Mary Street and Campbell Street in Johnstone on Thursday, August 7. ‌

The operation uncovered cocaine with a street value of around £130,000 and cannabis worth an estimated £31,000. ‌

A 28-year-old man was arrested in connection with the cannabis find but has since been released pending further enquiries. Detectives say their investigation is continuing.

Detective Inspector Gordon Smith, from the Serious and Organised Crime Team, said the haul was a major blow to criminals operating in the area. ‌
